HANNAH LAAKSO
Fine Artist, Illustrator
From fantasy illustration, to painterly studies, to nature-inspired abstractions, I find that I gravitate towards creating art of the things that I love the most. While I have worked in many mediums, my favorites are acrylic and oil painting, digital drawing (I use Clip Studio Paint), linocut printmaking, and charcoal drawing.
I am passionate about telling stories and creating creatures and characters, especially via comics or tabletop games such as Dungeons & Dragons. I love exploring horror as well, and draw much inspiration from eerie films and video games.
I also have a lifelong interest in animals, science, and nature, and am extremely fascinated by the unexplored ocean, speculative evolution, and uncharismatic animals. I have two feline studio assistants named Sonny and Jackhammer (who are occasionally featured in my works) as well as pet shrimp.
25 years old, grew up in South Florida, now resides in Maine.
